A number of partial restructuring measures are offered to optimize business operation to improve its efficiency and performance. The structure inside the company is one of the most important tools for managing its performance and its correct definition, and a proper and meaningful distribution can play a key role in the competitive environment. In many cases, the requirement for optimization of operation will arise from the requirements of facility management, and therefore restructuring measures relating to organizational changes should be implemented with respect to the principles of facility management or should be based on its optimization. This thesis presents the impact of restructuring measures by centralizing of divisions on optimizing its operation with respect to the facility management. The aim of the dissertation is to evaluate the organizational change in the company with several divisions, taking into account the principles of facility management. Political influences on Czechoslovak Radiojournal between September 1938 and March 1939
Veverka, Luboš ; Bednařík, Petr (advisor) ; Köpplová, Barbara (referee)
In the present work we strive to describe those political phenomena which influenced, directly or indirectly, Radiojournal Ltd., the only radio broadcaster in Czechoslovakia during 1923 - 1939. However, it is the period of the so-called 'second republic' that can be approximately set between the conclusion of the Munich Pact at the end of September 1938 and the occupation of the rest of Czechoslovakia on 15th March 1939, which is in the centre of our attention. At that time, the system of politics, power and social situation underwent a reconstitution marked above all by centralising efforts hand in hand with the suppression of liberal and democratic principles. Sometimes we talk about the so-called 'authoritative democracy'. Radiojournal could not escape these changes. Formally, it was a private company with 51 % of shares owned by the state. And civil servants or politicians themselves were members of the managing and supervisory bodies of this institution ever since 1925. This situation was maintained also during the 'second republic' when the grip of the state became even stronger. In the new situation, proposals were made to nationalize the institution. However, a number of changes were not implemented after all due to the short duration of the 'second republic's' domain. Many of these...
Collaborative purchasing in public procurement: A comparative study
Křivohlavý, Tomáš ; Palanský, Miroslav (advisor) ; Pleticha, Petr (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of collaborative purchasing in public procurement. We describe possible effects of centralized purchasing and define the objectives and strategies of the European Union regarding procurement centralization. Then, we examine the effects of centralized procurement based on a unique dataset of tenders from the whole European Union using Quasi-Maximum likelihood estimation. We find a positive effect of central procurement on competition in three procurement sectors. We also find that the effect is higher in countries with a higher degree of corruption. Centralized purchasing is criticized because of possible disadvantaging of small enterprises. We show that this strategy has a negative effect on the probability of awarding contracts to small or medium companies in two procurement sectors. One of the recommendations of the European Union to solve this problem is the usage of tenders with multiple selection criteria. However, our results do not confirm the validity of this recommendation.
